School for The Performing Arts at The Grand Summer, 2005 will mark our 9th year of "theatre camp" at The Grand, and we are looking forward to an exciting season. Sign up now!
Our program is for students from ages 8 - 18, who may have had a lot, a little, or no experience at all with acting and stagecraft. Each session is 3 weeks long and will culminate in 2 public performances of a Broadway musical.
Our program includes training in all aspects of theatre including:
o voice and
movement
o prop and set design and construction
o makeup
o costumes
o acting, theatre games, and improv work
Sessions are held every day during the week, either at The Grand theatre or
the nearby Ellsworth High School. The atmosphere is relaxed but the days are
full, as students train, design, build, and practice for their upcoming performances.
We are fortunate and delighted to have Rebecca Wright return as School Director. Mrs. Wright is Chair of the Fine Arts Department at Ellsworth High School and has had considerable experience in theatre, especially productions for and with students. She brings with her a group of talented teachers who assist her and work with students in small groups. The cost of the program is $350.
Deadline for applications is June 1st . For more information contact The Grand at 207/667-5911.
