A romantic comedy adaptation of the Hecht/McArthur screwball newspaper play “The Front Page”. Starring the fastest talking cast in Hollywood at the time (Cary Grant, Rosalind Russell and Ralph Bellamy among others) it tells the story of a newspaper editor using every trick in the book to keep his ace reporter ex-wife from remarrying. And whether it’s because of his love for her or because the biggest story the town has seen in years is erupting at the city jailhouse and he’s got nobody to cover it, the resulting film has become one of Hollywood’s classics! Presented as a free screening as part of The Grand’s Marquee Restoration Celebration.
