Ensemble Building: Movement and Story

Instructor: Georgia Zildjian

Wednesday, February 20th

Develop critical skills for participating as actors in a theatrical production. Explore your roles as ensemble members through cooperative games and movement exercises, collaborate in groups to create story through sound and movement, and work to create original “micro-plays” to share with each other!

An Actor Prepares

Instructor: Tyler Costigan

Thursday, February 21st

You’ve just been cast in you dream role! But what now? In this workshop, you’ll learn what comes next. Every role, big or small, requires that an actor (young or old!) prepare some things on their own. Explore script analysis, research, and how to create a backstory for your character. Add essential tools to your actor’s tool kit and be well on your way to building a fully developed character for your next show!

Page to Stage

Instructor: Georgia Zildjian

Friday, February 22nd

Bring your story ideas to life onstage! Students will explore basic skills and structure involved in creating scenes for a play. Through a series of prompts and movement-based exercises, students will have the opportunity to work both individually and in groups to create their own scenes for the stage.
